THE WORLDS’S LARGEST CAMPSITE
Hiking Tours through Mongolia
Mongolia is one of those destinations that almost everyone dreams of. The thing most people don’t associate Mongolia with is trout fishing. The fact is that The Great Khan and the massive Taimen have simply overshadowed them. This is great news for the rivers’ abundant populations of grayling and trout. With all the angling focus spent trying to catch Taimen, a world-class trout fishery remains largely ignored.
Designed for those who like nothing more than passing day after day fishing down glorious streams casting to large Trout and Taimen. Our fishing trips have it all. Wilderness, solitude, great camps, and great fishing!
MONGOLIA IS THE
Fly Angler’s Dream
The small camps combine a friendly atmosphere and plenty of fishing water. Each camp has access to over 50 km of water. The rivers in the region to be fished are a fly angler’s dream. They are clear and easy to wade. The banks are easy walking, ranging in size from 10 meter to 35 meter wide.
It’s hard to imagine that ferocious, cannibalistic fish as large as Taimen live in these waters. Strange enough, the largest Taimen to date, a 158 cm tall fish was caught in a particularly narrow stretch of river. On the rivers to be fished in Mongolia, the average Taimen is around 75 cm and roughly 5 kg. However, almost every week, anglers will have chances on fish over 125 cm.
Besides Taimen you can also find Lenok, Arctic grayling, and Amur pike in the rivers and lakes of Mongolia. But for Taimen, one of the world’s biggest freshwater fishes, Mongolia’s remote rivers are its last hope. So restrictions apply: Only fly-fishing with barbless hooks and only catch and release.
